Alpinestars Tech Heated Gloves and Vest

As a Michigan-based company, Riders Discount is all too familiar with having painfully short riding season. We know many of you are also familiar with this unfortunate reality and, like us, try to keep riding as long as possible - despite the cold weather. One easy way to make your rides in these less than favorable weather conditions more comfortable is to use quality heated gear like the Alpinestar Tech Heated Gloves and Vest.

The Alpinestars Tech Heated gloves use a leather construction with textile, suede and polyurethane inserts for a high level of protection. In addition to the durable main leather construction, the gloves feature PU inserts in the sides, along the wrist, and PU armor molded across the knuckles. There is also extra padding along the top of all fingers. Rounding out the list of safety features is the Alpinestars patented finger-bridge connecting the 3rd and 4th fingers. These safety standards are similar to those you would expect to find on a top of the line pair of racing gloves.

For weatherproofing, Alpinestars makes use of its Drystar membrane, which is both waterproof and breathable. This allows it to maintain heat while wicking away any sweat that would normally build up, leaving you with dry, comfortable hands. Heating is accomplished with a new active heating technology that heats up the gloves quickly and provides consistent heat over the entire hand. We tested the heating capabilities of these gloves in the shop by hooking the wiring loom up to one of our Ballistic Lithium Ion batteries. The gloves were up to temp in only 3 - 4 minutes and we measured a maximum internal temperature of 107° F with our infrared thermometer.

The Alpinestars Tech Heated Vest is a lightweight mid-layer that keeps you warm without the need for bulky insulation. The ultra-comfortable vest uses flat polymer heat panels in the chest, shoulders, neck and lower back to evenly distribute the heat without creating hot spots. This is further aided by the insulating properties of the lycra outer shell and mesh internal lining that allows heat to easily pass through to your body. In order to keep you warm and dry, Alpinestars added breathable side panels to help wick away moisture.

Power for both the vest and gloves comes directly from your bike’s battery, so wiring is very simple. The wiring kit for both is sold separately and comes with everything needed to run the vest and gloves together or individually. An optional Electronic Temperature Regulator (ETR) can also be added to the vest for your choice of four different temperature settings.

The Alpinestars Tech Heated Gloves and Vest are a great way to keep warm and comfortable when the weather doesn’t cooperate, and Riders Discount is happy to help you get you set up.
