Targa Adelaide

Just back from Targa Adelaide

A bit of an up and down event. We had a death of a competitor on the Friday which put a cloud over the event.

Was very wet for most of the event, with only 6 stages for the event being classified as dry out of 28 stages.

I ran in the Late Classic category for the first time as part of the 4 car Mazda team from Canberra. We managed 3rd in Late Classic with one of our team mates in 2nd only 8 seconds ahead.

Modern event was won by Jason White in the Lambo ahead of Tony Quinn in an R35 Nissan GTR, only 25 secs seperated them after 4 days competition.

Plenty of spectators throughout the event, with over 25000 turning up just for prologue on Wednesday at the Adelaide Showgrounds, they actually ran out of room in the stands.

The Classic competition was very closely contested with local Craig Haysman winning in a very highly developed Triumph TR8.

Now looking forward to Targa High Country in November to continue the battle.
